What We're About
COMMUNITY:At VeNture we do a lot of things. We gather at people's houses or on the Mall in downtown D.C. We hang out and watch football games, go on retreats and host events that engage all walks of life. But we don't just value the fun times. We also value the bonds that are established when a group of people actually care about the needs of others. We strive to be more than a social group - we strive to be a community. Kyle Kaurin spoke about our value of Community in a sermon on April 10th, 2005.

OUTREACH:
It is our goal as a True North community to model the early church of Acts 2. To be successful at this, we must constantly be reaching out to others. Webster's defines outreach as, "The extending of services or assistance beyond current or usual limits." For many of us, outreach is beyond our current or usual limits, but we still need to do it! WORSHIP:
Worship is the reason that we exist (Is. 43:7). And while many people have the idea that worship is a time when people sing or a time when people do strange stuff while they chant, it is actually something quite different. Worship is not just an experience. Many times we have limited it to feelings, and do not include the commitment, action and sacrifice that we are called to do in Romans 12:1. Our worship is lead by Director of Creative Arts and Worship, Eric Robertson, who spoke on our value of Worship on April 24th, 2005.

• Isaiah 43:7.
The guide for our lives is given in the Bible.
• II Timothy 3:16
God desires to have a relationship with everyone. So we focus on people, not programs.
• II Peter 3:9
We are supposed to train those we come in contact with, so we want everyone in our community to develop the values of Worship, Community and Outreach.
• Matthew 28:19,20
• Acts 2:41-47
• Ephesians 4:12
We are called to a radical minimum standard of commitment to Christ, so we challenge each other.- Romans 12:1,2. Everyone is needed to accomplish the goals of Christ and the ministry.
